Welcome to Hebrew 2! Learn the 250 most common Hebrew words, be introduced to the most common slang expressions and learn actual conversations that you are likely to have with a Hebrew speaker. All that in our 8 week H2 course.
The course is taught with a "little bit of language, every day" approach, so every day you'll:
1) Watch the daily 5-minute video
2) Learn the video's content (words, slang, conversations) through our audio/visual flashcards
This becomes your daily language learning routine and demands only about 10-15 minutes of your time each day. The rewards are ginormous! By the end of the course you will many of the main words you will hear in a Hebrew conversation and you'll have the confidence to start small conversations with Israelis and maybe even sound like a local at the same time!
Shalom, I’m Mike. I learnt Hebrew at the age of 28 when I moved to Israel from Australia. I didn’t speak more than a few odd words when I landed in Israel in 2012 but slowly I taught myself and after 2 and a half years was able to find meaningful employment in Hebrew, as a school teacher. I taught for two years (in Hebrew). Afterwards I studied to be a nature tour guide at the Wingate Institute and graduated in 2016.
I now live in Tel Aviv and work full time as a Hebrew teacher. I love the language and also helping others learn it more smoothly than I often did. I know firsthand the difficulties of learning Hebrew, especially as someone who has moved countries and is trying to build for themselves a new home. Sitting in social situations and not being able to contribute to the conversation, all of a sudden feeling helpless in not being able to communicate my most basic needs and just being a native English speaker and now having to make sense of this language which is SO different from English (and all latin languages).
All of these challenges are familiar to me. But I got there, and I want to help you get to wherever your “there” is, just with a whole lot less frustration and trial and error than I went through. Over the years I refined my process for learning Hebrew and this process is what you will learn in this course.
